We would like to inform you that there will be significant changes in the INCOSE SE Handbook, and therefor in the certification exam (CSEP/ASEP).
In the beginning of 2015, the new (4th) version of the INCOSE SE Handbook will be released. It reflects the 2015 version of the ISO/IES 15288 standard, which is partly different compared to the 2008 version.
Since the handbook forms the basis of the written part of the SEP Certification (ASEP/CSEP), from May 1st 2015, the exam will be updated and based on the INCOSE SE Handbook version 4.
If you who have educated yourself in version 3 and are thinking about certifying, we suggest that you make it easier for yourself and take the exam now (Before April 2015).
Syntell´s preparation course has prooved to be an effective way to go through all the material and prepare yourself to pass the exam – and at the same time create a solid platform for your career as a system engineer, or as someone who needs to communicate with system engineers. The course is a 3 day course lectured by Tom Strandberg, CSEP.
Below, you will find an extract from INCOSE 2014 vol. 11, Issue 9, eNote.
SE Handbook Version 4 release and Certification Exam Blackout Dates
”The INCOSE SE Handbook version 4 release in early 2015 will be followed on 1 May 2015 by a new version of the Certification knowledge exam. INCOSE Certification candidates who plan to take the knowledge exam in the Spring of 2015 are advised not to schedule their exam between 16 April 2015 and 30 April 2015. During that time period, INCOSE and its testing provider will be updating candidate records to re-assign them to the new exam. Only individuals whose testing eligibility period ends in April 2015 will be allowed to take the exam during that blackout period. To check on your eligibility ID code or its end date, candidates should look for an email received shortly after submitting their individual application and payment. If they cannot locate that email, they may contact the Certification Office for the information.
The INCOSE SE Handbook V. 3.2.2 will continue to be available until 31 December 2014.
Each day during the month of September, the INCOSE Certification Program has published a profile of one of its Systems Engineering Professionals.
