World leading expert Tyson Browning provides 1-day course in “Design Structure Matrix (DSM) – Methods & Applications” for engineers and project managers in Stockholm, 8 April! Read more here!
Design/dependency Structure Matrix (DSM) or N2 as the technique is called in Systems Engineering applications, helps you to visualize and analyse the relationships and dependencies between system elements, project activities or organizational units. This results in improved system architectures, effective system integration, more streamlined projects and improved interface specifications when acquiring or developing products.
Often used for complex product development in automotive industry and defence, but as applicable in transportation, energy and other areas where the systems and products are difficult to overview.
This a tool makes you more agile with control! Read a short introduction in Scientific American: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/the-design-structure-matrix-a-tool-for-managing-complexity/
Prof Dr Tyson Browning, Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, combines theory with practical cases from industry, delivered in a very pedagogic way. Tyson is the co-author together with Steve Eppinger, MIT, of the book ”Design structure matrix methods and applications”. You will receive a copy of the book as part of the course.
During the one day we will demonstrate and practice the use of DSM for both system design and project and process management. Do not miss this opportunity to learn a very powerful tool to manage complexity!
